Short Biography

Since 1997, Dr. Hoyt has contributed to institutional research and assessment at colleges and universities, most recently at Middle Tennessee State University where he served as Assistant Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness Planning and Research. He also directed institutional research and assessment at Longwood University in Virginia and institutional research at the University of Utah and Utah Valley State College. He has also worked at the Utah State Commissioner's Office and in continuing education. He currently directs the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analysis at FAU (beginning in April 2014).

Short Biography

Komal joined FAU-IEA in June of 2014 as the Administrative Assistant, she is responsible for managing the Assessment & FAIR Databases, IEA department budget & web page updates, coordinates the scheduling of meetings and organizing travel as needed, and manages the IEA office data requests Internal & BOG. Prior to FAU, Komal worked in the private CPA firm as an Accounting Manager in both the US & Canada for many years. Komal graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Business from University of Bombay (Mumbai) and is currently working on getting her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, mastering the techniques of Web designing and graphic designing, and will complete in fall of 2017.

Short Biography

John joined the FAU-IEA in 2002, as a Senior Research Analyst and has been active in institutional research for the past 15 years. John came to FAU from Barry University where he worked in the Office of Institutional Research. Prior to FAU, John worked as a research analyst in the Health Policy Resources Center’s Survey Center of the American Dental Association from 1998 to 2001. John has lead workshops on design & administration of web-based surveys at regional and national institutional research conferences. He received his bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences from Illinois State University and his master’s degree in Sociology from Northern Illinois University.

Short Biography

Maite joined the FAU-IEA in August of 2013 as a programmer/systems analyst. She has worked on several projects such as the Title III grant program, Common Data Set, Quick Facts, NCAA surveys, US News surveys, and data requests from the Colleges. She also administers SAS Visual Analytics. Prior to FAU, Maite worked for 10 years as a systems analyst in the central OIT department of Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Software Engineering in 1994 from the Technical University of Havana (CUJAE), Cuba.

Short Biography

Zhiyuan (ZMa) joined FAU-IEA in July 2014, as a programmer/systems Analyst and then as a Program Manager & Technical Lead. She is responsible for administering and managing databases, SAS Visual Analytics and other systems used for reporting and analysis by IEA and assists the Institutional Data Administrator to ensure the accuracy of over 50 file submissions to the state. Writes complex programming code and reviews SQL codes done by others. Zhiyuan received her master’s degree in computer and information science from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

Short Biography

Maggie joined FAU-IEA in October of 2014, as a programmer/systems analyst. She has worked with IPEDS, ETL data uploads to IEA Databases,editing & updating IEA’s Web page, and many data requests. Prior to FAU, Maggie worked in the office of the university registrar at WVU as a programmer/data manager and has over 25 years working with data collection in the manufacturing world. Maggie has two Associated of Applied Science Degrees, in Applications & Database Management from Westmoreland Community College in PA, a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technologies, a Master’s in Information Systems both from the University of Phoenix Online, and a Master’s of Online Teaching from Wilkes University in PA, completed August 2016.

Short Biography

Ben joined the FAU-IEA in 2015 where he coordinates statistical research with a specific emphasis on predictive modeling in academic success, admissions, and retention. Prior to FAU, Ben was a high school mathematics teacher at Miami Beach Senior High, Ben earned his M.S. in Statistics at Florida State University while teaching statistics as an adjunct instructor at Tallahassee Community College.

Short Biography

Michael joined the FAU-IEA in May of 2016 after working as a student intern for the past year. During his time as a student at the University, Michael has held several student positions in various areas of the University such as OIT and the Graduate College. As of May 2016, Michael currently holds a Bachelor's of Science in Management Information Technology as well as a Master of Science in Information Technology and Management.

Short Biography

Howard joined FAU-IEA in June 2016, as a programmer/systems analyst. He works with the Performance Funding Metrics. Prior to FAU, Howard has worked with private and public organizations in Jamaica and other Caribbean Islands leading IS/IT initiatives in Manufacturing, Healthcare, Transport, and Statistics. He taught IS and IT courses at the University College of the Caribbean (Kingston, Jamaica), Nova Southeastern University (Davie, Florida), and ECPI University (Newport News, Virginia). Howard has earned his BSc. in Computer Science and Mathematics (double major), an MSc. in Computer-based Management Information Systems, and Ph.D. in Information Systems. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Short Biography

Jessica joined the FAU-IEA team in July 2016 after working as a student intern for a year. During her time as a student at the University, Jessica has held multiple student positions and led the ITOM department's only student organization. Jessica currently holds a dual Bachelor's of Science in Business Finance and Management Information Systems with the concentration in Business Analytics, and will complete her Master's of Science in Information Technology and Management in Fall 2016.
