Comparative Medicine is a customer oriented department within FAU’s Division of Research, we strive every day to meet your needs. This is, of course, not always easy to accomplish in a field highly regulated by the federal, state, and sometimes even municipal government.
Therefore, service must be balanced to accommodate the scientific needs of our research personnel in light of regulatory constraints. Be assured that before we say “no” we have explored all the options. CM employees serve three customer groups, our scientists, their animals, and the public at large who are funding a large number of the research studies and need to be assured that any animal study is conducted in an ethical and humane manner.
The CM team is embracing the well-being of the animals and the overarching goal to create an environment and provide the appropriate resources to all engaged in the animal care and use program at FAU for being able to achieve success and high-quality research outcomes.
