FAU to Present a Variety of Dance Performances

BOCA RATON, Fla. (April 22, 2013) – The Department of Theatre and Dance in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will present the spring “Dances We Dance” Performance Showcase on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 27, at 1 and 7 p.m., in the University Theatre, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Admission is $10 and children’s prices are available.

The performances will include modern dance, ballroom, break dancing, hip hop, “Dance of the Orient,” and more. The showcase is the culmination of performance study for students in all levels of dance at FAU. Original choreography will be featured as well as the Florida premiere of works by faculty, guest artists and student choreographers.

Then, on Friday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m., Davis Robertson, the artist director of the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group, will work with FAU students and choreographers to present a performance of mixed works.Tickets for this performance are $15 with FAU and children’s prices available.
