The Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees reelected current chair Abdol Moabery during its recent annual retreat.

Moabery, of Delray Beach, has been an FAU trustee since 2011 and chair since 2019. He is president and chief executive officer of GA Telesis LLC, a global leader in integrated commercial aerospace services. An active member in the community, Moabery is on the Board of Governors of the Wings Club Foundation and serves as an adviser to several national and local children’s charities. He is an honorably discharged veteran from the U.S. Navy and an alumnus of FAU.

“As we continue to rise in the rankings, I am fully committed to helping ensure the university continues on its upward trajectory and keeps building on its successes,” said Moabery. “It is an honor to be reelected as chair of the Board, and I look forward to all that we will accomplish together for this incredible institution.”

FAU’s Board of Trustees is a 13-member group responsible for cost-effective policy decisions appropriate to the university’s mission, the implementation and maintenance of high-quality education programs, the measurement of performance, the reporting of information and the provision of input regarding state policy, budgeting and education standards.
