The National Academy of Inventors


The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit member organization comprising U.S. and international universities, and governmental and non-profit research institutions, with over 4,000 individual inventor members and fellows spanning more than 250 institutions worldwide.

Mission of the NAI

  • To publicly recognize and encourage university inventors
  • To enhance the visibility of university technology and innovation
  • To encourage the disclosure of intellectual property
  • To educate and mentor innovative university inventors
  • To translate the inventions of its members to benefit society
