Appreciative Education in Action Webinar

Using Appreciative Strategies to Connect with Students Quickly

Wednesday, April 13, 2022 | Noon- 1 p.m. (Eastern Time)

Featuring:
Rebecca Weidner, MS, Academic Advisor, Brigham Young University
Emily Emerick, MS, Academic Advisor, Brigham Young University
Rachel Terry, MEd, Academic Counselor, Utah Valley University

With increasing caseloads, limited appointment availability, and short time frames in each appointment, how do you build relationships with students efficiently? This interactive webinar will use principles from the Disarm phase of Appreciative Advising theory-to-practice framework to assist student affairs professionals in building rapport quickly through in-person, video chat, and phone appointments. As student affairs professionals, we want to be a relevant resource to our students while also developing rapport. This webinar is geared toward those newer to Appreciative Advising and serves as a good refresher for those more familiar with the Appreciative phases.
