Ninth Annual Pumpkin Drop and Physics Carnival

Don’t miss all the slimy, messy, yucky pumpkin guts on Oct. 30! Come watch physics professors drop real pumpkins off the roof of the Science Building to demonstrate common physics principles.

Join us for the Ninth Annual Pumpkin Drop and Physics Carnival on Friday, October 30 on the lawns south and west of the Science Building (SE 43). The Pumpkin Drop will take place at 10 a.m., followed by the Physics Carnival from 10:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Come watch physics professors drop real pumpkins off the roof of the Science Building to demonstrate common physics principles such as constant acceleration of gravity, terminal velocity and Newton's laws. Sir Isaac Newton will explain the theories behind these principles. There also will be physics-related carnival games and face painting for middle schoolers, a dunk tank, ice cream, and drones!
