Class Details

LLS Classes run one hour and 30 minutes with a 10 - 15-minute break and a 15-minute question and answer period at the end of class. Instructors should plan to lecture for about one hour. Most instructors augment their presentations with audio/visual media, including PowerPoint presentations, Web content, CD's and DVDs.

Role of the Faculty

LLS instructors are passionate and articulate lecturers, capable of instructing and inspiring an audience of adult learners. The instructor must create a course proposal, suitable for the LLS catalog and web site, that accurately and concisely describes the course and then take responsibility for leading that class.

It is important to remember that LLS classes have no tests, grades or homework. Students appreciate handouts and reading lists, where applicable, and most instructors augment their presentations with audio/visual media, including PowerPoint presentations, Web content, CD's and DVDs.
