Yes, once you have created an account and saved your information, you are able to edit your application up until the application close date.
An executive summary is required.
A pitch deck (PowerPoint Presentation), a financial forecast (3 to 5 year projections) and business plan are not required but recommended. Check out our resources page for more information here.
Company must be based in the state of Florida and willing to participate in person at the FAU Tech Runway facility in Boca Raton, FL, for all required program activities.
All Launch Competition participants must be formally established (e.g., registered as a corporation or LLC with the State of Florida and/or Delaware) and in good standing to be eligible to enter the Venture Program and, if applicable, receive the cash prize.

There are two rounds of judging:
Round 1: Scoring
- The first round is completed within the platform you submitted your application within. All completed applications will be reviewed by scorers who are experts in their fields. The top scores will then advance to the second round of judging...
Round 2: Live Pitch in front of Panel of Judges
- The top scored applications will be invited to pitch live in front of a panel of elite representatives from the following groups: professional investors, business leaders, serial entrepreneurs, FAU’s Division of Research Senior Staff, incubator/accelerator managers, entrepreneurial support program professionals, FAU Tech Runway Mentors and Advisory Board Members, FAU Faculty, Launch Competition Sponsors, and top-tier Service Providers to the entrepreneurial community.
- The top 7 winners will receive the cash investment award. Non-cash winners will also be selected during this time.
No, currently we only provide mentoring to the companies that are accepted into the program.

FAU Tech Runway accepts at least 21 companies each year.
All Finalists will be asked to give a live 1-minute elevator pitch, followed by 7 minutes of Q&A with the Judges.
The Final Round Judges' Panel will be composed of elite representatives from the following groups: professional investors, business leaders, serial entrepreneurs, FAU’s Division of Research Senior Staff, incubator/accelerator managers, entrepreneurial support program professionals, FAU Tech Runway Mentors and Advisory Board Members, FAU Faculty, Launch Competition Sponsors, and top-tier Service Providers to the entrepreneurial community.
Yes, if selected you will receive all the other benefits offered.
Pitch Scrubs are an opportunity for a Finalist to hold a “live” practice pitch prior to submitting their video submission for the Final Round Judges’ Panel. This will also allow companies to troubleshoot any video conferencing issues prior to the Live Judges’ Panel.
It is not a requirement, but highly recommended.
At least one member of the entrepreneur team must be eighteen (18) years of age.
