This 4-hour course satisfies the supervisory training continuing education requirements for qualified supervisors in the state of Florida that is due every third biennium. The virtual training is interactive and dynamic and encourages participants to take an active role in their learning.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review changes to Florida laws and rules relating to Interns and Supervisors,
  2. Discuss various electronic delivery systems for supervision and methods for ensuring confidentiality,
  3. Discuss ethical, legal and regulatory issues of supervision, including documentation of the supervisory sessions,
  4. Review research of effective supervision models,
  5. Review challenges in supervision,
  6. Address how cultural issues can affect the supervisory relationship,
  7. Discuss accountability of both the supervisor and the intern in the supervisory relationship,
  8. Discuss the business aspects of supervision,
  9. Discuss the ethical, legal, and regulatory issues of teletherapy.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Erin McNamee, DSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in clinical practice in the state of Florida since 2006. She is a qualified supervisor in clinical social work who has supervised numerous clinicians in both master’s level internships and completing the requirements for clinical licensure. Erin recently completed the Doctor of Social Work program at Florida Atlantic University studying barriers to treating Substance Use Disorder. She maintains a private practice in Boca Raton, Florida specializing in trauma, addiction, and codependency.
