Synopsizing the NASW Code of Ethics Updates

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) recently announced some important revisions to the Code of Ethics regarding explicit inclusion of selfcare, and explicit expectation that social workers have a responsibility to clients (not just society) to address racism, discrimination, and inequities, and acknowledge personal privilege. Dr. Allan Barsky , professor, synopsized the changes and their implications for Social Work practice in his latest article for The New Social Worker, “Ethics Alive: Special Report on the 2021 Revisions to the NASW Code of Ethics”. Make sure you’re in the know about these changes with your choice of the written or podcast version of Dr. Barsky’s article.
