A researcher is currently exploring various issues relating to volunteer policing. In both academic and professional settings, he has published numerous articles and presented at conferences on volunteer policing topics. He is a volunteer deputy with his local sheriff's office, a certified volunteer policing leader and serves as the second vice president for the preeminent international organization in volunteer policing, the Volunteer Law Enforcement Officers Alliance. As such, (the researcher) was invited to give presentations in the British Home Office, New Scotland Yard, and the International Volunteer Policing Summit in the Walkie-Talkie building in London, where (the researchers) was introduced as "the world's leading expert in volunteer policing." This photograph (shows) volunteer-police leaders from three continents overlooking the Thames river 34 stories up on the garden balcony of the Walkie-Talkie building.
