This research project examines the intersection of Developmentally Appropriate Practice and Culturally Relevant Pedagogy in Jamaican preschools. This photo demonstrates and adds to the research evidence for the practice of direct instruction, otherwise known as one-on-one instruction in preschool classes. This photo demonstrates that even in a play-based learning environment, direct instruction is used and is an effective teaching methodology with young children.
