Nature's Hoverboard

This Atlantic longarm octopus glides right above the seagrass and algae searching for prey while remaining incognito. Blending into the background for camouflage is impressive, but motion camouflage is next level. This octopus is using flounder mimicry to avoid being detected by visual predators during its afternoon lunch time. Its body color, posture and behavior mimic the flounder that also inhabit the same environment. It even swims at the same speed as the flounder.
