Bloom that Consumes

This image shows MCF-7 breast cancer cells genetically engineered to express a mutant estrogen receptor that causes resistance to hormone therapy. The cells were stained with an anti-estrogen receptor (DR62W) antibody. The fluorescent signal reveals clear nuclear expression of the estrogen receptor. Captured on an ImageXpress HCS.ai high-content screening system at 20X magnification, and processed with Fiji ImageJ2 software, this confocal image highlights the precision of antibody labeling in studying protein localization within cancer cells.
