First-Year Student Orientation Schedule

For new first-year students attending Boca Campus, First-Year Student Orientation is a required two-day program.  Participation in the orientation program is a requirement for all incoming students.

The Office of New Student Orientation is excited for you to attend your First-Year Student Orientation session. It's an exciting time to join the Owl Family, and the orientation program is designed to help you make this transition. Get ready for a fun and informative two days to help you prepare to be a successful FAU student.

Transfer Student Services (link to: fau.edu/transfer) is available to help you if you have any questions or concerns regarding your transfer experience. Check-in begins on your first day at 7:30 a.m. After you have reserved your spot, read through your confirmation email at your FAU email account for more check-in details. Be sure to accomplish all your checklist items before  attending orientation.

Throughout your orientation program, you will interact with several university departments and resources, along with a chance to meet your fellow Class of 2022 classmates. Here are a few things you'll do during your two days at orientation:

  • Meet with University Advising to start building your Owl Flight Plan.
  • Work with Financial Aid and Tuition & Billing Services to manage your tuition & fees.
  • Learn how to get involved and connected on campus.
  • Take a tour of student life on campus.
  • Learn about FAU traditions.
  • Make new friends, including your Orientation Leader!

 Things to bring:  a sweater or light jacket, government issued photo ID, an umbrella or raincoat, money for snacks.

Things we provide: lunch, dinner, and breakfast

The orientation program ends on the second day of orientation at 5:00 p.m. There is time built into the afternoon of the second day of orientation to take care of any business, like meet with an academic advisor or follow up with Financial Aid.
