Post Masters DNP

This program is designed for Master’s prepared nurses who are nationally certified in an area of advanced practice nursing to earn the Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree. The program is designed for advanced practice nursing leaders to develop skills in shaping and evaluating practice models in their own practice settings. It is a part-time program offered over 8 semesters with coursework in leadership, clinical scholarship, nursing theory, cultural competence, population health, strategic healthcare management, and evaluation. Throughout the program, the student gains the knowledge, skills, and competencies to plan, implement, and evaluate a DNP project designed to respond to a recognized healthcare concern or need in the community.

Only students with a Master’s Degree and national certification in advanced practice, administration, or clinical nurse leadership will be accepted into the post masters Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. The Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree will require students to take a minimum of 37 credits post-master’s degree, most students will need to take 40 credits. The program will accept a limited number of applicants. Meeting minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
