The project was undertaken in the Architectural Design 9 studios, coordinated by the BCDC under a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation to study the Oakland Park Boulevard Corridor in Broward County, Florida. The municipalities of Oakland Park and Wilton Manors participated in the study.

Laura Daniels' design was highly rated by the general public, and was selected by the BCT (Broward County Transportation Department) for implementation as a prototype bus shelter.
