Biography
Dr. Mary Billington is an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. Dr. Billington serves as the director of quality improvement and process improvement. She is a core academic faculty member in the FAU emergency medicine residency. She practices clinically at Bethesda Hospital East and Delray Medical Center.
Dr. Billington completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of South Florida Honors College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. She continued her studies at Florida Atlantic University, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree.
Dr. Billington followed her studies with residency training in emergency medicine at Parkland Hospital / University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. She continued her medical training there, completing a fellowship in Medical Toxicology.
During fellowship training, Dr. Billington served as an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern. Following fellowship, she practiced privately. Following private practice, Dr. Billington worked as an assistant instructor of emergency medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, where she initiated and served as director of a division of medical toxicology.
Dr. Billington is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology. She is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, where she additionally serves on the research committee and toxicology section. She is an active member of the American College of Medical Toxicology.
