FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute's  Nicole Baganz, Ph.D.,   director of community engagement and programming and research assistant professor of biomedical science, and  Paula Kurdziel, Ph.D. ,  postdoctoral fellow, recently led the neuroscience core course for the annual  American Association of University Women Tech Trek  virtual summer camp. The camp is a week-long, highly competitive, hands-on, problem solving program designed for middle school girls who have demonstrated academic excellence.

This year's activities included a dissection of a sheep brain and comparative anatomy; constructing LED and rope neuron to demonstrate neurotransmission and how neurons use electricity and chemicals in order to communicate, and other STEM-focused experiences. Learn More.
