Supervisory Training - The Basics

This training is designed for new supervisors or a refresher.

In this training we will go over the follwing:

  • Basic Laws such as FLSA, FMLA
  • Setting Expectations
  • Providing Feedback
  • Disciplining at FAU
  • Handling complaints about another co-worker
  • Interviewing - what is legal to ask, what is illegal to ask
  • On-boarding New Employees

This course is only available on Canvas for FAU employees who hold a supervisory positions.

 

FMLA and Leaves

The training is designed for Supervisors and Timekeepers only.
We will be reviewing the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) basic requirements, laws and FAU Policy for leave of absence.  
This training will allow supervisors and timekeepers to understand timeline of events, help recognize employees’ need for leave, and guide through proper leave procedures.

This course is only available on Canvas for FAU employees who hold supervisory positions and employees who hold timekeeper positions.

 

Performance Appraisal Training

This training is for supervisors/managers.   It will go over how to conduct a performance appraisal.  

Included in this training:

  • The Performance Appraisal Timeline and process
  • How to Reduce Rating Bias
  • What to include in the performance apprasail
  • Goal Setting
  • How to deliver difficult feedback

This course is only available on Canvas for FAU employees who hold a supervisory positions.

 

Disciplinary Action and Documentation

This training is for supervisors and HRBP who would like to know more about the disciplinary process here at FAU.  

We will go over when and how to discipline, what to include in the documentation and provide you with tips.    

We will go over examples.
