Student will have opportunity to observe the doctor to patient interactions. Gathering knowledge of the profession gaining a better understanding of Physician Assistant job duties and role in the clinical practice. Reading and comprehension of patient history and diagnosis in an atmosphere providing a wide variety of orthopedic conditions. Researching ortho conditions, medical procedures or surgeries beforehand to be familiar with prior to observing each day. Student must also be on time and dressed appropriately.

This internship will require me to observe the procedures the doctor performs, as well as observe their interactions with their patients. In addition to these tasks, this internship will also require that I take notes during each session with the orthodontist, and ask questions when pertinent of the orthodontist and orthodontic assistants in order to gain a better grasp of the concepts related to certain actions. As an orthodontic intern, I will also keep myself informed of the newest tools and technologies involved with standard orthodontic procedures, their uses, and how often they are utilized in my work setting. Additional tasks will be given to me over the duration of the internship, and will be noted in my writing.
