Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering
From a young age, Kaela has demonstrated a great commitment to all her pursuits-starting with graduating from high school at 16 years old!
While working on her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Kaela stepped outside of the classroom and was an active competitor at the highest level in both CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting. Over a period of three summers (2016, 2017 and 2018), Kaela in competed at the Reebok CrossFit Games and took first place her age group in 2016 and 2017, and second place in 2018. Additionally, while in college, she competed internationally and represented Team USA Weightlifting at the 2017 IWF Youth Worlds in Thailand, and placed 9th overall in the world in the 53kg weight class!
Kaela also excels in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total categories, earning the below distinctions:
- Competed at the 2017 Youth Pan American Games in Colombia and placed 2nd
- Competed at the 2018 IWF Junior Worlds in Suva, Fiji and took 7th place
- Competed at the 2018 IWF Junior Pan American Games in Cuba and placed 5th
She has not yet graduated and already currently works at a top engineering company, Thompson and Youngross Engineering Consultants, where she does the mechanical design for various construction buildings.
