What is Computer Engineering?

To get anything done without the enablement of technological applications and our computer systems these days is nearly impossible, our machines are essential. Computer Engineering focuses on system, software, and hardware aspects of computing, and includes hardware, software, and interfacing.

As a computer engineering student, you will learn about electronics, logic design, computer design and architecture, microprocessors, design automation, operating systems, and software engineering. You will get to work with circuit boards, microchips, network systems, and computer processors from design and development to testing and embedding these to build even faster, more innovative, and capable devices. Remember we started with big hardware and very limited software and we have grown to the development of tiny microcomputers and more extensive software systems. This is a field that has everlasting opportunities to expand and interact with other technical areas.

As a computer engineer, you can work with robotics, design circuitry to be used in new equipment, computer graphics and visualization creating high-powered graphic cards, develop network security hardware and software such as routers, monitoring tools, switches, medical image computing, and many more exciting systems. These are just a few examples of the vast instruments which you can become an expert in.

What is Electrical Engineering?

As an Electrical Engineer you will design, analyze, and apply skills on any device or system that that uses electricity or electromagnetic radiation.

To become an Electrical Engineer is to have a job that benefits mankind. Without electricity, our machines and most essentials that are used on a daily basis would not be possible. In this field, one of the fields you may concentrate in is the generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption of energy. The 21st century is pushing for clean energy and taking part in the development of smarter ways to produce and consume energy would be empowering. Taking part on an innovative method to lower the cost of electricity or come up with a new engineered mechanism that uses electricity or electromagnetic radiation, would be beneficial towards many technological advancements including computers and the networks that connect them; consumer electronic goods like MP3 players, satellite radio and HDTV; power generation and transmission systems; wireless cellular and wireline telephone networks; integrated circuits and electronic devices; electronic motors and actuators; MRI and other medical instruments and more. What is Data Science & Analytics?

Are you good at deciphering information? Then this is the right career for you! To work in this field, you must be data-driven and able to convert and interpret information presented in many different forms. Data science and analytics involves the design and application of tools and methodologies for uncovering patterns in data and making actionable predictions. This program prepares you to work immediately with industry, business, and government. We live in a data driven world and being able to predict patterns and use algorithms to simulate an event or make a smart calculated decision are skills that are on demand and necessary to prevent danger, provide security, and present probabilities for future outcomes.

Data scientists are effectively tackling many real-world problems. Recent discoveries and advances in data science are being used to help make intelligent and informed decisions in medicine and healthcare, finance, retail, transportation, manufacturing, media and entertainment. This program builds a strong background in computational and mathematical foundation of data science, programming, and data structures and algorithm analysis.
