Kimberly Russo Memorial Scholarship Fund |
Undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Education. Applicant must participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk in Boca Raton each year applicant receives award. The scholarship award shall be in the amount of up to $500 per semester and is to be used for tuition and fees only. Scholarship applicants must submit a one-page essay along with their application describing what receiving this scholarship would mean to them and how cancer has impacted their life. Applicant must be affected by cancer either individually, or by their spouse or parent. This year’s event will be held on November 5th, 2022 at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton. Lenny & Judy Pippin Alumni Endowed Scholarship | Established by alumnus Lenny Pippin ’70 and his wife, Judy Pippin, the scholarship is awarded to students who are seeking a degree in education who demonstrate good academic standing and financial need. |
Shamrock Society Endowed Teacher Scholarship | Scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled full-time at Florida Atlantic University College of Education. Students must demonstrate financial need and must be planning to become teachers. |
Henry and Albertha McKoy Endowed Scholarship | Undergraduate and graduate teacher education students. Preference will be given to Jamaican or other West Indian immigrant students or children of Jamaican or other West Indian parents. Scholarship awards will be made on the basis of academic performance and demonstrated financial need*. |
Dr. Dorothy S. Laird & E.G. Carel Endowed Scholarship Fund | Students programmed in Elementary, Exceptional Student, and Secondary education, programs. Undergraduate students must have a 2.8 GPA and Graduate students must have a 3.0 GPA. Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the head of a recognized Catholic, Protestant or Jewish organization. |
Dr. Hoang Tran Memorial Scholarship |
This scholarship honors Dr. Hoang Vu Tran, Assistant Professor in FAU College of Education. Dr. Tran enjoyed teaching and working with students examining issues of racial inequality, educational access, and fulfilling the Civil Rights promise of education. He spoke to how simple educational access was one of the biggest roadblocks to many students operating on a level playing field and he developed a strong passion to support those less fortunate children in his native country of Viet Nam. The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing enrolled in a program in the College of Education with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Students should submit any two of the following forms of documentation:
Preference will be given to students who meet the above criteria and represent the first generation from their families in college. |
Richard & Shirley Pendell Presbyterian Scholarship |
Undergraduate and Graduate students from Martin, St. Lucie, and Palm Beach counties who wish to pursue a teaching degree. Submit proof of residency in Martin, St. Lucie or Palm Beach county. Preference is given, but is not limited to Presbyterian students. |
Toppel Family Foundation Endowed Scholars |
The Toppel Family generously donated funds to support the Genesis Project. When
the Genesis Project ended, funds were redirected to support Undergraduate students
in the College of Education. * Based on financial need. |
W. Dorne & J. Latham Kiwanis Education Scholarship | Undergraduate students who are Boca Raton residents, graduated from a Boca area high school and has been programmed into a teacher training program. Students must agree to maintain a full-time or approved academic schedule. Must submit proof of Boca Raton residency and graduation from a Boca area high school. |
Dr. Anthony J. Amato Scholarship for Future Educators |
This scholarship honors Dr. Anthony J. Amato, who was a beloved professor at Temple University, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Hawaii. His academic area of expertise was early education, especially research related to creative ways to get young students interested in the lifelong pursuit of reading. The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing who are majoring in education, with a preference for reading education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, and preference will be given to students who are first-generation in college, or those who are socioeconomically disadvantaged, and/or those who have overcome substantial educational or economic obstacles. |
Mildred Kytlica Scholarship Fund | Provides financial support to individuals who are pursuing a degree in the College of Education with preference to female education majors. Recipients must be admitted and matriculated to the College of Education in good standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0. |
Mary R. Leiper Scholarship Fund | Undergraduate and Graduate students a pursuing degree from the College of Education with a preference to African American students. |
The Nora Elizabeth Temple Family Scholarship Endowment | Undergraduate and Graduate students programmed in the College of Education. |
Rolling Green Elementary School Scholarship | Deserving staff, faculty or former students of Rolling Green Elementary School or faculty and staff of Crosspointe Elementary School to help the individual earn any of the following at FAU: a college degree, an advanced or graduate degree, or teacher certification. |
James Woodruff Jr. Scholarship |
Undergraduate and Graduate students programmed in the College of Education. * Based on financial need. |
College of Education Advisory Board Scholarship Fund | The College of Education Advisory Board Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student in the College of Education. The recipient must be degree seeking in the College of Education, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must submit a one page letter on why this scholarship is important to them and what they would like to accomplish with the degree they are seeking. |
The University Club Endowed Education Scholarship Fund | The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship support to deserving students of the College of Education. Recipient shall be an upper division student in the College of Education pursuing teacher certification. Documentation of financial need is required. |
ZONTA of Greater Deerfield Scholarship | The recipient of this scholarship will be an FAU College of Education undergraduate student, preferably a Broward resident. Selectee will be a non-traditional student which may include an older student, single parent or head of household whose work experiences or family situations make attending college full-time difficult. Minimum GPA or 2.5 or higher is required. |
* A current FAFSA must be on file with the Financial Aid office and must show unmet need for the academic year for scholarships requiring financial need. Please DO NOT submit financial documentation with your College of Education scholarship packet.
