Mosaic Celebration

Mosaic graduates have learned to lead through adversity pursuing their academic careers while attending to both work and family responsibilities. Mosaic brings different students from all walks of life together to one common path, which is celebrating their success.

This celebration is to honor historical underrepresented students who through unyielding determination have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree from the Florida Atlantic University.

This celebration highlights intersectionality of the students’ time here at the university. The celebration consist of:


Lavender Graduation

A ceremony to honor Florida Atlantic University’s graduating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Ally undergraduate and graduate students. The annual celebration commemorates their achievements, contributions, and unique experiences at FAU.


Urban Male Initiative Scholars Program

The UMI scholars program is a career development and graduate preparatory program focused on preparing program participants to face a challenging and ever changing post-graduate workforce. The UMI scholars program is an intensive academic year commitment aimed at developing and polishing the skills necessary for resume writing, interviewing, etiquette, and graduation preparation; while focusing on the core values of critical thinking, leadership, and interpersonal skills.


Reaching Individual Success and Empowerment (RISE) Program

Designed as an educational enhancement program, the RISE Program provides access to academic support, cultural competence training, leadership development, career readiness programs, and intentional engagement opportunities for first-generation low socio-economic students.

First Generation Student Success Program

First Generation Graduation is a ceremony celebrating the achievements and impact of our students as they are commemorated for being the first in their family to graduate from college.


FUTUROES Success Program

The FUTUROS Success Program provides Hispanic/Latinx students with services and resources that promote academic success, such as advising, mentorship, financial assistance and career readiness programs that are intentional designed for the Hispanic/Latinx student at FAU.

The ceremony is representative of culture and heritage of each individual group, embraces the value of community and scholarship, and culminates with the presentation a token of their achievement. Graduates are honored together in one setting and their families also get the opportunity to celebrate their hard work and dedication and recognize the important role that these students have played in shaping the landscape of FAU. By embracing their new important roles as FAU alumni.
