FUTUROS Success Program
The FUTUROS Success Program provides Hispanic/Latina/o/x students with services and resources that promote academic success, such as advising, mentorship, financial assistance, and career services. In collaboration with the Office of First-Generation Student Success, the following programs assist in further developing our Hispanic/Latina/o/x students.

A welcome reception for new and returning Hispanic/Latina/o/x students. Find out about involvement opportunities, resources, and how to build community.
Celebrating Hispanic/Latina/o/x Heritage
A series of events from September 15 through October 15, to commemorate and celebrate the presence and contributions of Hispanic/Latina/o/x Americans in the United States.
Bodega Central
A discussion platform uniting the voices and experiences of our Hispanic/Latina/o/x faculty, staff, and students. Event topics include issues that affect the Hispanic/Latina/o/x community, such as identity formation, immigration, cultural complexities, financial literacy, and social justice.
Comadres Circle Lunch
The lunch will unite Hispanic/Latina/o/x faculty, staff, and student women to examine their identities as it relates to the decisions they made to be the women they are today. Attendees will identify skills to overcome socio-cultural barriers as it pertains to womanhood and career development.
Compadres Circle Lunch
The lunch will unite Hispanic/Latina/o/x faculty, staff, and student men to examine their identities as it relates to defining masculinity in an ever changing society. Attendees will identify skills to overcome conflict within socio-cultural expectations and lack of visibility in higher education.
Futuros Retreat
In this retreat model, new and returning students will connect with one another, develop personal and professional skills, and begin transforming leadership potential into action.
The Retreat features a keynote Hispanic/Latina/o/x speakers, collaborative cultural activities/workshops, and closing fiesta where students are encouraged to exchange ideas for strengthening their respective Hispanic/Latina/o/x communities.
The Retreat provides students an opportunity to get to know each other, team build, and participate in collective reflections on notions of Latinidades.
Lavender Circle Lunch
A combination of Comadres/Compadres Circle Lunches and Lavender Lunches through the Office of LGBTQ+ Initiatives and Allyship, we bring to you Lavender Circle Lunch: The lunch will unite Hispanic/Latina/o/x faculty, staff, and students of the LGBTQ+ community to examine their identities as it relates to the intersectionality of these identities. Attendees will have the honor to discuss strategies on they navigate through society and the possible impacts it has on their personal and professional lives. Attendees will identify important LGBTQ+ resources across the FAU campus and in the South Florida community to aid in the growth of their support networks.
Cesar Chavez Day of Service
Cesar Chavez Day of Service is to honor and celebrate his legacy and to get students involved in their communities by identifying issues within the Hispanic/Latina/o/x populations in South Florida.
