Compowlation V’ Due Out Nov. 4

Florida Atlantic University’s Hoot/Wisdom Recordings will release its fifth compilation CD, “Compowlation V,” on Friday, Nov. 4.
The new CD will feature nine FAU students that have devoted months of hard work to record and work with an executive board of student producers to craft a track for the compilation.

There will be a reception to celebrate the release on Thursday, Nov. 3 at The Burrow Bar & Grille, FAU Student Union, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

"I'm really proud of our students and the dedication, time and effort they have invested in this new album," said Alejandro Sánchez-Samper, associate professor of music and faculty advisor to Hoot/Wisdom Recordings. "The production of this album is top-notch and the artists and producers on this album deserve to be noticed by music industry professionals."

FAU's Hoot/Wisdom Recordings, which is housed in the Commercial Music Program in the Department of Music in FAU's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, enables students to be involved in all aspects of a label environment. As part of the program, students learn tools for songwriting, choreography, production, engineering, recording services, video services, promotion and marketing, talent scouting, website management, newsletter production, finance, legal issues and accounting. The label was established in 2003 and has produced 22 albums to date.
