Graduate

At the graduate level, the Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Comparative Literature (LLCL) offers a Master's degree and an ESL Studies Certificate.

LLCL also participates in the multidisciplinary Ph.D. Degree in Comparative Studies offered by the College of Arts & Letters. Doctoral students can choose linguistics as one of their areas of concentration and explore the interplay among cultures, languages and literatures, as well as theories and methodologies, technologies and pedagogies.

We offer graduate courses in a variety of linguistic subfields, both theoretical and applied.

LLCL has a policy of "rolling admissions," which means we accept students for Fall and Spring enrollments. We also offer a limited number of graduate teaching assistantships that provide an annual stipend and tuition remission in exchange for teaching (languages and/or linguistics courses) or assisting in the department.
