Sari Carter is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the FAU Department of English. She received her PhD in nineteenth-century British literature from Vanderbilt University (2019) and taught as a Visiting Instructor in the FAU English department for the 2019-20 school year. Her research interests include nineteenth-century British literature and intersections between ethics, aesthetics, and philosophical questions of subjectivity. Her postdoctoral project will be writing new chapters and revising her dissertation into a longer book, tentatively titled Ethical Subjectivity as Excess in Victorian Literature and Philosophy. In addition to the first-year writing sequence, she regularly teaches Interpretation of Poetry classes, and this Fall 2020 semester she is also teaching British Romanticism and later British literature survey courses.
