Processing is a coding language that allows you to interact with society from a chair in front of your computer. This is a residential program designed for beginning “Coders.” In a society that is geared towards innovations in the field of technology, these skills will become essential to functioning in the workforce. Come learn the skills needed to build webpages, create mobile applications, and manipulate your own games.

Residential Camps

Burrowing Owls

Get a head start on college while networking with peers from around the country! Burrowing Owls will gain valuable knowledge as they develop and/or add to their college application portfolio, explore majors, and experience life as a college student.

Burrowing Owls will reside in the residence hall, attend workshops and visit FAU’s various campuses. Workshop topics may include FAU’s application process, test prep, financial aid and scholarships, student organizations, and student leadership opportunities. These workshops are facilitated by FAU staff, alumni or student leaders.

To provide maximum individual attention and collaborative interaction between students and facilitators, space is limited. Organized social and cultural activities create an authentic experience of life in South Florida and most importantly, life as an FAU Owl !

Grades 10-11

Florida Atlantic University is offering an exciting opportunity for young adults with Autism who would like to learn responsibility and independence in a university setting. The S.O.A.R. Summer camp is located in Boca Raton, FL at the FAU campus. Students will focus on employment, health, personal finance and leadership. Social activities include fitness, swimming and group recreation. Participants will learn time management, meal preparation and laundry skills.

Camp eligibility:

  • Young adults with Autism and similar learning disabilities
  • Ability to self-administer all medications
  • Ability to navigate the community with support
