Nori Carter – Director, Weppner Center for Service-Learning and Civic Responsibility
Nori Carter serves as the Director for the Weppner Center for Service-Learning and Civic Responsibility at Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Carter received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications—Advertising from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University.
Over the course of Ms. Carter’s career, she has worked for numerous corporations with the last four years in Higher Education as an adjunct instructor, as a staff member of FAU’s Broward Student Wellness Center, and in her current position. Volunteering has always been a part of her life making her job rewarding!
Adam Seigal – Assistant Director, Weppner Center for Service-Learning and Civic Responsibility
Adam Seigal serves as the Assistant Director for the Weppner Center. A native of Boston Massachusetts, Adam received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education at Lesley University, and a Master's Degree in Administration of Higher Education from Suffolk University.
Adam is an AmeriCorps Alum and former volunteer recruitment coordinator in the non-profit field, who is devoted to providing individuals with the opportunity to give back and grow from their experience. He looks forward to cultivating a culture of civic awareness on the FAU campus.
Zaida Ismatul – Graduate Assistant, Weppner Center for Service-Learning and Civic Responsibility
Zaida Ismatul received her Bachelor’s degree in Latin American & Iberian Studies at The University of Massachusetts Boston. She moved to Florida to pursue her Masters in Education at Florida Atlantic University where she is currently enrolled in the Higher Education Leadership Program. She is a native of Guatemala and Boston, Massachusetts. She currently serves as a Graduate Assistant at The Weppner Center for Academic Service Learning and Civic Responsibility where she is able to fulfill one of her many passions, service work.
Maya Burney – Graduate Assistant, Weppner Center for Service-Learning and Civic Responsibility
Maya Burney serves as the graduate assistant for the Weppner Center for Service-Learning and Civic Responsibility. A native of South Carolina, Maya received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University, and is currently pursing her Master’s Degree in the Higher Education Leadership program here at Florida Atlantic University. It is her hope to gain educational experiences and to foster relationships while working in the Weppner Center.
Kassandra "Kassi" Pedron - Student Assistant
Kassandra Pedron is from Caracas, Venezuela. In the Fall 2012 semester she transferred from Barry University to FAU to continue to pursue a Bachelors degree with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Chemistry. Kassi enjoys reading, drawing, singing, dancing, and most of all playing video games. She is very outgoing, honest, and talkative.
Crystal Campbell – Student Assistant
Crystal Campbell was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and began attending Florida Atlantic University in the summer of 2011. Crystal is currently majoring in Nero-Science and Behavior and minoring in Psychology. Furthermore, she has a passion for health and wellness and desires to become a physical therapist. In her spare time she enjoys reading, dancing, creative activities, and spending time with friends and families.
Nicole Green – Student Assistant
Nicole Green is originally from Jacksonville, FL. She began her freshman year at FAU in the summer of 2013. She is currently pursuing her bachelors degree in Psychology. She is extremely passionate about working with children due to her experiences with children's daycare facilities and hospitals. After obtaining her bachelors degree, Nicole wants to be a child psychologist and focus on children with mood and personality disorders. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Tanea McNeal - Student Assistant
I was born and raised in Groveland, FL. I began attending FAU in the summer of 2013. Currently majoring in Social Work. I have a passion for kids and believe that every kid needs a hero. I am a strong believer in the power of one, meaning it only takes one person to start a chain reaction and make a difference. In my spare time I enjoy running, spontaneous adventures, meeting new people, dancing, music, laughing hysterically, and spending time with loved ones.
