"Empowering, Redefining, and Becoming Men of Content and Character"

Thank you for visiting the webpage of the Urban Male Initiative (UMI) at Florida Atlantic University. It is our desire to provide the urban males on our campus a culture of support, empowering them to meet the various challenges that they face both scholastically and socially.

It is our goal that through our various programming endeavors, that these men will be equipped with the skills needed to matriculate college successfully and garner the motivation needed to use their knowledge to impact themselves, along with their local and global communities.

The UMI Spring Retreat

The UMI Spring 2018 Retreat will take place Friday, Feb. 2 through Saturday, Feb. 3. The retreat will Empower, Redefine, and teach our young men ways to become better men of content and character.

The UMI Kick-off

UMI kicked off the academic year with its annual UMI event to welcome new men into the program and to give the young men their first lesson in Refinement & Retention Through Relationships.
