What would you like to accomplish in the next five years: “I want to be in the FBI.”

Words to live by:

“Wherever you are, be all there” - Jim Elliot

I chose this because wherever you are in life, live it to the fullest. Don’t just go half way and don’t even try. Be the best person you can be at all times wherever you are.

Advice for fellow students: “Do not think that your whole life is defined by your collegiate experience.”

Keith Powell is a Florida native from Orlando. He is a Freshman studying Criminal Justice in the College of Design and Social Inquiry. His decision to come to FAU is the desire to make a difference he wants to see FAU elevated as a university in South Florida. Keith wants to make this happen by first starting with himself going out and making an impact and change the culture, by making name for himself he wishes to bring that shine to his future Alma Mater.

Powell is involved on campus and seeks further involvement. He works in the Student Union and he is a participant of the Urban Male Initiative (UMI). The organizations he is interested in being involved in are National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Black Student Union (BSU).

Powell expresses he wants to be an FBI agent. He has always had this interest and feels the accomplishment of becoming an agent is more challenging and fulfilling. Not to mention, the attractive salary and retirement benefits. Over the summer he hopes to find an internship as well as travel to Europe, Africa and Paris.
