TODAY AND BEYOND WELLNESS
What We Do
The college experience is a time to
learn a wealth of information, experiment and try new things,
build friendships, search for career options and develop
necessary skills for a successful and happy life. A bright
future includes making responsible healthy choices.
The office provides support and
resource information for both on and off-campus services.
Additionally, ongoing programs are offered free of charge
with a monthly calendar of workshops and fun events listed on
this website or available at the reception desk. The office
is located in SS-Room 222 (over the breezeway cafeteria) and
the regular hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 6:00
PM, Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Peer Education Team (P.E.T.)
provides the momentum for the wellness services provided by
Today & Beyond. P.E.T. provides presentations on sexual
health issues such as Sexually Transmitted Infections and
HIV/AIDS, stress management, alcohol and other drugs,
disordered eating, nutrition, fitness and women's and men's
health. Additionally health promotional activities, the
Annual Wellness Triathlon, the Wellness Expo, the Sexually
Responsible Bed Race and the Pre-Spring Break Festival and
many more activities. P.E.T. facilitates programs and events
in the Breezeway, classrooms and residence halls.
Free condoms are always available in
room SS-222. Free wellness guest lectures, presentations,
workshops, and health awareness activities are available by
the Today & Beyond staff and peer educators. Please refer
to our calendar for upcoming events.
Today & Beyond Wellness provides
assistance with referrals to campus and community resources.
A Health Educator is always available to confidentially
discuss your health concerns. Please call or come by the
office to make an appointment.
Free, confidential HIV Testing is
available two to three times a month on Thursdays in room
222.
Directed Independent Study Credits
Students may earn up to 5 Directed Independent Study (DIS) credits through participation in the Peer Education Team. Please contact (561)297-1120 for more information about this opportunity.
