Today and Beyond Wellness
Veterans Resources
We understand that promoting and maintaining a healthy body and mind is vital for those who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. Today & Beyond Wellness has many services, programs, and clubs that may be of interest to you! Our resources include but are not limited to:
One-on-One
We are here for you! We would be happy to meet with you and discuss the best way to meet your needs. We can provide both University and community resources. To make an appointment with a staff member please contact Rosemary Dunbar (561)297-3615.
Year-Round Presentations and Workshops
Our office hosts year-round presentations and workshops on topics such as: Stress, Sexual Health, Alcohol & Other Drug Education and Abuse Prevention. Other programs offered include: Nutrition, Body Image, Healthy Relationships, Money Management, and Safe Zone (training to support our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered students).
Support Groups
Narcotics Anonymous (NA): Thursdays at 7:00pm in theNA logo Palmetto Palm Room, Student Union.
*Coming soon* The National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) will be providing several support groups to address the well-being of our students. Groups will form in early Fall, please contact our office (561)297-3615 for more information.

Stress: Stress Kits, Stress Balls, and Stress Management Workshops.
Sexual Health: FREE condoms, female condoms, dental dams, lubricants, HIV testing, Safer Sex Kits, Abstinence Kits, Safer Sex Games Workshops, and Sexually Transmitted Infection Prevention Presentations.
Alcohol & Other Drug Education: Alcohol IQ Presentation, Drug Abuse & Misuse Presentation, Guest Speakers, Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings, and on-going programming.
General Wellness: Ask the Expert (a forum to ask specific wellness questions and receive personalized responses), hundreds of brochures located in our hallway, the FAU Student Wellness Guide, and much more!

HIV Testing
Our office provides free & confidential hiv testing
HIV testing to students and non-students on Thursdays, two to three times every month. Testing is provided on a walk-in basis between the hours of 10:30am-2:00pm. The OraQuick test is used – NO BLOOD and results in 30 minutes. Please check with the office (561) 297-1120 for specific dates and information.

Peer Education Team (PET)
PET members volunteer their time, talent, and energy to promote healthy lifestyle choices for the FAU community. PET is open to any student who wants to educate the FAU community regarding health and wellness.

Members assist in the design and implementation of workshops, classroom programs, and numerous fun events & activities! PET members receive invaluable experiences and volunteer hours that impact future personal, educational, and career endeavors.
Directed Independent Study Credits
Students may earn up to 5 Directeddirected independent study students Independent Study (DIS) credits through participation in the Peer Education Team. Please contact (561)297-1120 for more information about this opportunity.
L.I.F.T. Challenge Course
The Learning Initiatives For Teambuilding Challenge Course offers an innovative and participatory educational venue for development of leadership and teambuilding skills.

Climbing Club
The Climbing Club is open to all FAU, faculty, staff, and alumni. The cost is $10 per semester which covers the use of the course, ropes and other equipment.
The Climbing Club is designed for climbers of all levels and those who have never climbed before. The club provides an excellent venue for physical fitness, learning and refining climbing skills, and meeting new friends with similar interests. Many current club members are ROTC students.
