Today & Beyond Wellness is prepared to make presentations to your class or organization. We can share information about our department, programs, services, and basic wellness information. Our most recommended programs include Sexual Health, Alcohol 101, Stress Management, Nutrition and Drugs. Please contact our department to schedule a presentation in our facility or in yours.

The Peer Education Team (P.E.T.) provides the momentum for the wellness services provided by Today & Beyond. P.E.T. provides presentations on health issues such as Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV/AIDS, stress management, alcohol and other drugs, disordered eating, nutrition, fitness and women's and men's health. Additionally health promotional activities, the Annual Wellness Triathlon, the Wellness Expo, the Sexually Responsible Bed Race and the Pre-Spring Break Festival and many more activities. P.E.T. facilitates programs and events in the Breezeway, classrooms and residence halls. P.E.T. meetings are held in SS-222 on Fridays from 12:00 - 12:50 pm.

Many college students will have questions or concerns about a variety of health-related issues. Today & beyond Staff members can provide one-on-one counseling services, during which a student can discover more about their wellness in relation to the college experience. Topics include:

• Nutrition
• Fitness and healthy Body Image
• Sexuality Education, including contraception
• HIV/STI Concerns
• Healthy Relationships
• Stress Management

Free condoms and other safer sex resources are always available in room SS-222. If you do not see what you need or have questions about how to best stay safe, please ask to speak with a staff member.

Free, rapid HIV testing two to three Thursdays of each month (excluding holidays) from 10:30am – 2:00pm. Testing is offered in Today & Beyond Wellness, contact the office for specific testing dates. This HIV test requires the collection of an oral fluid specimen. Results are provided in approximately 30 minutes and the test is FREE. Testing is done on a first come, first served basis and is offered to FAU students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Quit Smoking Now! If you are ready, we want to help. A free 6 week program will begin on Tuesday, September 6 - October 11 2011 and October 18 through November 22, 2011 from noon to 1:00 PM in the Today & Beyond Wellness classroom (over the cafeteria, across from the Pharmacy). Group workshops will continue to be provided. Keep an eye on the announcements for group opportunities.

Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) are available on campus in the Silver Palm Room in the Student Union at 7:00 pm.

Each year the office hosts the FAU Wellness Triathlon! The triathlon consists of a 1/4 mile ocean swim, 10 mile Bike, and 3.1 mile run. This year's triathlon is located at Spanish River Park, Boca Raton, FL Sunday, April 18, 2010. Please visit www.fau.edu/today/triathlon for more information.

Ask the Expert provides members of the FAU community a forum to ask specific wellness questions and receive personalized responses. Additionally, Ask the Expert provides a searchable database of thousands of health and well-being related questions from several years of previous inquiries.
