Self-Care Challenge

Hey everyone! I know we are three days into October, but I thought it would be fun to offer some self-care ideas for the month. Below are 31 self-care ideas to help you take care of your mental health. These are in no particular order and if you don't get to all of them that’s okay! (Save them for next month!) If you are interested, we put them into a calendar format and you can find that here.

 

  1. Watch your favorite movie
  2. Try guided meditation
  3. Do a face mask
  4. Sleep in (on a day you don’t have class in the morning)
  5. Have some tea (chamomile is a nice go-to)
  6. Diffuse essential oils*
  7. List five things you are grateful for
  8. Read a book for fun
  9. Go for a walk
  10. Watch a positive Ted Talk
  11. Listen to a new podcast*
  12. Write some positive affirmations
  13. Journal
  14. Yoga/Pilates
  15. Go out to lunch with some friends
  16. Color
  17. Listen to some throwback songs
  18. Clean out your inbox
  19. Organize your desk or dresser
  20. Call/text a good friend and just talk
  21. Play a board game with your friends
  22. Eat your favorite dessert
  23. Take a warm bath/shower
  24. Change your bedsheets
  25. Watch the sunset/sunrise
  26. Unplug from social media for at least two hours
  27. Practice deep breathing
  28. Write a letter to your future self
  29. Cooke/bake something from scratch
  30. Have a picnic
  31. Have a pajama party with your friends

 

*If you don’t have a diffuser try rubbing some essential oils on the inside of your wrist.
