There is so much going on right now. We have protests and riots, an airborne virus, virtual graduations, virtual classes, and city-wide curfews! With all these different things going on, how do you find your inner peace? Take a pause.

Now, I know it’s definitely easier said than done with people still being diagnosed with this deadly virus and people who are dealing with unrest because of the injustices going on around the world—so how can I possibly ask you to take a pause?

Well, let me give you the scenario of an airplane that drops its oxygen mask. You are always encouraged to put on your mask first before you can help someone else—why is that? Well, the longer you neglect to put on your mask, the higher the chances are that you will start to lose the ability to recognize faces and potentially pass out. Do you see how vital a pause for yourself is? Only after you have put on your oxygen mask can you truly make a difference or help others in the manner you would like.

So ask yourself, ‘what can I do to find my inner peace when I am on pause’? For me, I enjoy finding my peace through prayer, Bible reading, and writing—and it has definitely helped me to find peace so that I can be the best version of myself. When you have the opportunity to take this pause, use it as a time of reflection too—you never know what new ideas can come about when you...pause.
