Jean-Louis is a former Chair of the Department of Theatre, and has been a member of the department for over 25 years. During this period he was instrumental in designing and implementing the B.A. pre-professional and M.F.A. professional training programs, and helped found the Festival Repertory Series. Prior to his years at FAU, he was head of the acting program at the University of Cincinnati where he designed the M.F.A. Curriculum. He received his B.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin and his M.F.A. from the Goodman School of Drama (now known as The Theatre School - DePaul University) at the Art Institute of Chicago. He has directed extensively in academic and professional theatre, as well as 75 industrial and commercial film and video projects. His FAU directing credits include over 65 productions, and his total credits are well over 100 productions in a broad range of styles and genres.
