Multimedia Journalism Entrance Exam

This exam consists of 75 questions that include spelling, grammar, punctuation, plurals and possessives. You must score 70 percent or higher to be admitted into the Multimedia Journalism sequence. You have a maximum of 60 minutes to complete the exam.

Registration Information

  • Cost
    $10.50
    Test must be taken within 90 days of payment.
  • FAU students must know their Z-numbers and email address on day of test.
  • A non-expired Government issued photo ID is required and must be presented prior to testing. Your photo ID must be a valid photo ID matching exactly the name you used when registering. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Testing is on a walk-in basis only AFTER you have paid your fee.
    • Boca Raton Campus
      Testing must be completed by 4:30pm - Monday through Friday.
    • Davie Campus
      Testing must be completed by 5:30pm Monday and Thursday, 4:30pm Tuesday and Wednesday, or by 2:30pm on Friday.
  • The exam is 60 minutes in length - Please make sure you arrive to the testing office no later than 3:15 to  ensure you receive your full testing time.
  • All testing fees are non-refundable

What to Bring

  • A non-expired Government issued photo ID is required and must be presented prior to testing. Your photo ID must be a valid photo ID matching exactly the name you used when registering. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Bring your email receipt sent to you by Prepblast.

Directions/Parking

From I-95 take exit #45, which is also known as Glades Road.
From Florida Turnpike take exit #75, which is also known as Glades Road.

Go east, towards the ocean, on Glades Road and make a left on 1st FAU entrance (Broward Avenue). Once on campus turn right onto Indian river Street then turn left onto Dade Avenue. Visitor parking is on the left; located on the south end of the student support services building (also known as SU 80). If you do not have an FAU parking decal you must park in the visitor's parking lot. All visitors must pay to park at FAU. The price is $1.00 per hour or $10.00 a day, you can pay with cash or credit card. Site Address: 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton FL 33431 Building Student Support Services SU 80 suite 210. On the Davie Campus if you do not have a decal test takers can purchase a day pass for $2 from the Owl card center in SD 201. They need a cash or a check for the amount. They also need their tag number and year of the car. The center is open on Mon and Thurs 8:30-7, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-4:30, Friday 8:30-3:30. They are closed everyday from 1-2 for lunch. Accommodations

The FAU Testing Center willingly provides special test accommodations for all candidates who qualify for non-standard test administrations. Please send all documentation to FAU Testing Center no later than two weeks prior to your test date. You can fax your documentation to (561) 297-0170 or drop it off at our office in the Student Support Service Building, SU 80 Room 210.

Documentation of your accommodations must :

  • be current- i.e., completed within the past few years for disabilities not of a permanent or unchanging nature.
  • describe the specific accommodations requested
  • adequately support each of the requested testing accommodation(s)
  • be typed or printed on official letterhead and be signed by an evaluator qualified to make the diagnosis.
