The FAU Counseling Center at the Jupiter campus is dedicated to the needs of the University community. The center provides confidential and free services to all fee-paying FAU students. We also provide consultation to faculty and staff.

	Hours 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Monday - Friday) 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. (Thursday)
The Counseling Center is located on the first floor of the Student Resource Building (SR110)	Same-day help or consultation is also available during our walk-in hours, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

CONFIDENTIALITY

The Counseling Center’s records and information are considered confidential and are set apart from all other records at the University.

The law protects the privacy of all communications between a client and psychologist. In most situations, we can only release information about your treatment to others if you sign a written consent. The exceptions to confidentiality are explained in more detail in our application for services and your counselor will discuss them with you in your first session. The Counseling Center adheres to the American Psychological Association guidelines for protecting client confidentiality.

SESSION LIMITS

Students are allotted a maximum of 12 sessions per academic calendar year, but many students find they meet their treatment goals before they reach their session maximum. Participation in group counseling is unlimited and does not count toward your 12-session limit. Students may use the Counseling Center on a crisis basis if they have exceeded their session limits.
