YES! Student records maintained within the Counseling Center are deemed to
be
confidential and are not considered to be public information. This information can
be found in the Counseling Center's Policy Manual Draft and in the Consent to Counseling Services form that students read and sign prior to receiving psychological services. Issues of confidentiality, privacy and security regarding psychological records are enforced by state and national rules, laws and standards that regulate counseling services. Florida Statutes establish confidentiality and privileged communication between Center clients and mental health professionals licensed under Chapters 490, 491, and 90.503.
