 A Career Guide for the Arts & Humanities Major


The Arts & Humanities major offers a program of study for the student who wishes to concentrate generally in the Arts and Humanities without a specific departmental major. The breadth of knowledge and intellectual training provided is good preparation for graduate study in the fields of the humanities, law, ministry, government and public service, or private industry.

CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS


In addition to University general education and foreign language graduation requirements, the Arts & Humanities major must complete a minimum of 32 credits in Arts and Humanities course work beyond general education requirements. These courses must include 3 credits each in Art History/Appreciation, Literature, History, and upper-division Philosophy courses. Furthermore, 12 credits must be earned in a central theme, either from a single discipline or in an approved interdisciplinary sequence.
