Davie Campus Security & Parking

Security Information

Public safety on the Davie campus is provided by the FAU Police Department using a combination of state police officers and police security technicians to provide a 24-hour presence 7 days a week.

Parking Information

Student parking is available in marked lots throughout the campus and is open to student vehicles displaying a valid FAU parking decal. Faculty & Staff lots are clearly marked and are not open to students at any time. Permanent decals can be acquired online and temporary decals can be acquired at the Owl Card Center in the Davie Student Union in Room 201.

Fort Lauderdale Campus Security & Parking

Security Information

The Fort Lauderdale campus (Askew Tower and Higher Education Complex) is a shared facility with Broward College. Public Safety is provided by the FAU Police Department. Escorts are provided to the parking garage at any time by request to the security desk.

Parking Information

Student parking is on the rooftop of the city parking garage. Weekdays until 5 PM, the ground parking lot adjacent to the Higher Education Complex is for faculty/staff vehicles only. Weekdays after 5 PM, student vehicles displaying a valid FAU parking decal may use the yellow spaces in the ground lot. On weekends, students may park in any ground lot space other than those with reserved signs.

The ground lot has an electronic gate that can be opened by swiping an activated Owl card. To get an Owl card activated, students must complete a request form and submit it to HEC 1109, along with a copy of a current course schedule.  Decals can be acquired online at the FAU Parking web site.
