Broward Counseling Center
Psychological counseling services are provided at no charge for students attending the Broward campuses. The professionally trained staff seeks to assist students with a wide range of personal concerns and problems. Students receive help dealing with issues such as test anxiety, stress, procrastination, poor assertiveness, and low self-esteem, as well as more serious issues including depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, childhood sexual abuse, and sexual assault.
Couples and family counseling are also available at no charge as long as an enrolled FAU student is an active participant in the sessions. Group counseling and limited psychological testing services are also provided when appropriate.
Counseling at the center is held in strict confidence in keeping with accepted professional practice and Florida statutes. Appointments (Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, with some evening hours potentially available upon request) may be made in person at the Center or by calling 954/236-1210. Our office is located in the Student Union Suite 206, on the Davie campus.
If you are experiencing an emotional crisis and would like to speak to someone immediately, please call the Broward County Mobile Crisis Unit at 954-463-0911. There is someone available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
If you are in immediate danger, please dial 911.
