Meeting Statewide Professional and Workforce Needs
Florida Atlantic University will commit academic and fiscal resources to meeting Florida’s need for trained professionals in nursing, teaching and advanced technology. FAU will demonstrate its commitment to recruiting and preparing students in these vital professions and to identifying emerging trends in the labor force. | | | | | OBJECTIVE 1: Expand production of degrees in nursing, engineering and teaching to align with approved Board of Trustees and Board of Governors Targets. | | | | OBJECTIVE 2: Review effectiveness of academic advisement and career planning services provided to undergraduate and graduate students and make recommendations for improvement and integration. | | | | OBJECTIVE 3: Identify and implement financial assistance programs to increase enrollment in critical workforce needs areas. | | | | OBJECTIVE 4: Establish ongoing University-level evaluation of emerging workforce needs and ensure FAU’s response to those needs. | | | | OBJECTIVE 5: Prepare Florida Atlantic University students to transition competitively into the workforce through partnerships with business and industry. | | | Total budget for goal 2
