Core Requirements
All MPA degree students must complete 42 semester hours of course work earning no grade below C (C- is not acceptable) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be awarded the MPA degree. All MPA students must complete the following 30-hour core curriculum. For descriptions of the core courses, go to the FAU Graduate Catalog. http://www.fau.edu/registrar/universitycatalog/welcome.php
For those students who take their courses at the Fort Lauderdale Campus, all core courses are offered within a 12-month period. For those students who take their courses at the John MacArthur Campus in Jupiter, all core courses are offered within an 18-month period. It is important to note that all of the core courses are not offered at the Boca Raton Campus at this time.

Elective Courses
The remaining 12 hours are electives. As part of the 12 hours, students who don't have any public sector experience must complete a one-semester, 20-hour-per-week internship while registered for the accompanying Government Internship course, PAD 6941. Course Schedule
Course schedules are available up to three months before the semester begins. It is important to note that if there are fewer than 10 students registered for a course, the class may be canceled. Students should contact Theresa Champagnie, the Administrative Assistant for the School of Public Administration, to find out if a course is canceled at the beginning of the semester (tchampag@fau.edu or call 954.762.5650).
