The FAU Elite OWL is a premiere ambassador leadership program designed to recognize exemplary student leaders at Florida Atlantic University. Through Elite Owls you are given the opportunity for personal leadership development as well as facilitating leadership development for students at FAU. Elite Owls along with FAU are in a period of tradition building and by becoming an Elite Owl you are able to not only be a part of the tradition but you are in the center of building the tradition yourself.
 
Elite Owls Mission Statement : To build a strong leadership foundation across the campuses while creating possibilities for student leaders to engage others in making an everlasting mark on the community and student body; in and out of the classroom.

Kayla Woody

Kayla is a junior majoring in Elementary Education and is very active on campus. Kayla is one of our Elite Owls as well as a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Kappa Delta Pi, and the Student Alumni Association. Kayla has been a proud member of Alpha Delta Pi since fall 2010 and has held positions including Spirit Chair and she is currently the Director of Social Enrichment on the Executive Board. She just recently was honored to be initiated into the Education Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi and has been a member of our Student Alumni Association since her freshman year. Kayla was born in Littleton, Colorado and lived there until she moved to Oviedo, FL in 2004. She just recently moved back to Aurora, Colorado and currently resides there when not here at school. Kayla loves helping her community whenever possible. Some ways she is involved are through Up Til Dawn with her sorority and the FAU community, which is an organization that helps raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. She also is involved in raising money for Relay for Life and just donated 11 inches of her hair this last Spring. She loves to work with her philanthropy the Ronald McDonald House, making dinners, and helping with their big fundraising events.

Cassandra Smith, known as Cassie to most, is a sophomore on the Boca Raton campus of FAU. She is a nursing major who also hopes to minor in communications or business as well. Cassie, along with her full time schedule, is involved on campus through not only Elite owls, but her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, as well. Cassie is enjoying her sophomore year as a rookie Elite Owl and can't wait to see what this opportunity brings. Go Owls!


  Ashlee Mclymont

Ashlee Mclymont is a Sophomore at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College on the McArthur Campus. She is majoring in English Literature with a Minor in Spanish. Ashlee is heavily involved with student residential life and is the National Communications Coordinator for MacRSA. Ashlee is also a Student Ambassador on the Jupiter Campus and loves getting new students acclimated to the campus. She joined the Elite Owls in the beginning of her Sophomore year and hopes to become a liaison for the Jupiter Campus. Ashlee was born in Clarendon, Jamaica but has lived in South Florida for much of her life and considers FAU to be her second home. She spends most of her time giving back to her Church as a Youth Leader and Praise and Worship Leader. When she graduates, Ashlee wants to pursue her PhD in Law and English Literature and be a resource for underprivileged students in higher education.
