FAU students, faculty, staff and other community members are welcome to have their prescriptions filled at the Pharmacy and purchase over-the-counter items.
2. Can I have a prescription filled that was written by a physician outside of FAU Student Health Services?
Yes, the FAU Pharmacy welcomes prescriptions written by outside providers.
3. If I am given a prescription by the FAU Student Health Services Clinic, must I have it filled at the FAU Pharmacy?
No, you are not required to fill your prescription at the FAU Pharmacy.
In order to keep costs at a minimum, the Pharmacy does not stock every prescription medication. However, we may be willing to stock a medication for you if it would be something that would be purchased on a regular basis. A prescription that is not in stock may be special ordered if a 1-2 day wait is not a problem. Please check with the Pharmacy staff concerning product availability.
FAU Pharmacy prices are generally lower than outside pharmacies.
The FAU Pharmacy accepts most major health insurance prescription cards. If we do not accept your prescription card, receipts for filing your own insurance claim are attached to every prescription filled at our Pharmacy. Please call the Pharmacy at (561) 297-0072 to see if we can accept your prescription card.
Florida law prevents us from reissuing any medication that was previously dispensed to a patient since we cannot guarantee that it had been properly stored or is not contaminated. Therefore, we cannot issue credit for medications returned to the Pharmacy, although we would be happy to dispose of the medication for you.
Yes, we carry a wide variety of over-the-counter products including: cough and cold medications, pain relievers, hygiene products, bath and beauty aids, etc.
Yes. We ask that patients call the FAU Pharmacy at (561) 297-0072 ahead of time and inform us of the name of the person who will be picking up the prescription. Proper photo ID is required upon request when picking up prescriptions.
Students who were enrolled in classes during the previous semester can use the FAU Pharmacy for the semester immediately following, provided the Visitor's Fee is paid. If you are not eligible as a student, you may still make purchases, but you will not be eligible for the discounted student rates.

Yes, we encourage you to call in refills 24 hours in advance. Simply state your full name, student ID number (if you are a student) and prescription number when calling in your refill to (561) 297-0072.
Yes, as long as the mailing address is within the State of Florida. A small fee will be charged to cover shipping costs.
All FAU faculty, staff and community members may have their prescriptions filled at the FAU Pharmacy. Just have your doctor's office fax your prescription(s) to (561) 297-0172.
NOTE: Prescriptions MUST be faxed by your doctor's office or the ORIGINAL may be mailed (FAU Pharmacy, 777 Glades Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33431)/delivered in person to the FAU Pharmacy or your healthcare proivder may call in your prescription to the FAU Pharmacy at (561) 297-0072.
After payment information has been received, prescriptions can then be picked up in person at the Boca Raton campus or mailed directly to your Florida address for a small shipping fee. FAU students being treated at Student Health Services (SHS) on the Davie or MacArthur campuses: No form is required and SHS staff will assist you with filling your prescription.
